By using The Noir Atlas — whether as a member, business, or artist — you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Name, username, email address, and password when you create an account
• Zip code, city, and state (used to connect you with local businesses and events)
• Phone number (optional, for account recovery or gifting features)
• Business name, address, and contact details (for businesses and artists)
• Payment information processed through Stripe (we do not store card numbers)
• Messages, reviews, and content you submit to the platform
• Profile photos, portfolio images, and other media you upload

We also automatically collect certain information when you use our platform:

• Device type, browser, and operating system
• IP address and approximate location
• Pages visited, links clicked, and time spent on the platform
• Referral source (how you found us)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Connect you with deals, events, and businesses near you
• Process membership pack purchases and Stripe transactions
• Send transaction confirmations, redemption codes, and gift notifications
• Send platform updates and optional marketing communications (you may opt out at any time)
• Enforce our Terms of Service and Prohibited Content Policy
• Improve the platform, detect fraud, and ensure security
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider, which stores your account data securely
• Stripe — our payment processor, which handles all financial transactions under their own privacy policy
• Resend — our email delivery provider, used only to send transactional and notification emails
• Vercel — our hosting provider, which serves the platform
• Law enforcement or regulatory authorities — when required by law, court order, or to report violations of our Prohibited Content Policy

Businesses and artists have their name, location, category, and deals visible to the public. Members' usernames may be displayed in reviews. We do not publish your email address, phone number, or payment information.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use browser cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and maintain your cart. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell data to ad networks. You may clear cookies through your browser settings at any time, though doing so will sign you out.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we retain your data for 90 days before deletion, in case of disputes or legal obligations. Purchase records and transaction history may be retained for up to 7 years as required by applicable financial regulations.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of marketing emails (via unsubscribe link in any email)
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

The Noir Atlas is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Your continued use of The Noir Atlas after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
